The Ghana Police Service has interdicted General Lance Corporal Shani Abdullai after he was found in possession of restricted pharmaceutical substances at Kpalsi, a suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region.
The officer’s alleged involvement in the illegal distribution of these substances came to light when one of his clients was arrested and named him as the supplier.
A video circulating on social media shows the officer being confronted and interrogated by members of the community. During the exchange, he reportedly admitted to supplying the restricted drugs and confirmed his posting at the Sakasaka Police Station.
The Police Service has yet to release a full statement, but investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of his involvement and any potential collaborators.
