Man fakes mother’s death to receive donations from his classmates

The story, which gained traction on X (formerly Twitter), claims Adesanya circulated a fake obituary and solicited financial support under the pretense of funeral expenses. Reports allege that he successfully scammed millions of naira from classmates and departmental colleagues.

Further allegations suggest that he has used similar tactics before, including forging scholarship letters to deceive others.

Adding fuel to the backlash, a video surfaced showing him partying at a club—dancing and spraying money—shortly after the alleged scam, prompting more criticism online.
