President Mahama Commits to Addressing Youth Unemployment through Private Sector Partnerships

In his inaugural speech on January 7 at the Black Star Square, President John Dramani Mahama emphasized his dedication to tackling youth unemployment by fostering strong collaborations with the private sector to create well-paying and sustainable job opportunities.

Mahama outlined his vision for an inclusive and innovative Ghana, with a focus on empowering the nation’s youth. He pledged to make inclusivity, accountability, and innovation the pillars of his administration, aiming to improve the lives of Ghanaians, especially young people.

Addressing a crowd of dignitaries, government officials, and enthusiastic supporters, Mahama acknowledged the pivotal role the youth played in his electoral success. He noted that their aspirations and concerns would be central to his government’s policies.

He described the results of the December 7, 2024 election as a clear message from the youth, calling for change and a future filled with opportunities.

“My administration, together with my Vice President, will focus on fostering inclusivity, accountability, and innovation, ensuring that all Ghanaians benefit from the country’s progress. We are committed to creating opportunities that will uplift our people and provide a brighter future for Ghana,” Mahama stated.

He highlighted the urgent need for policies that encourage innovation and the development of industries that engage young minds. In partnership with the private sector and business leaders, his government aims to create job opportunities that offer decent pay and long-term stability for the youth of Ghana.
